"A Tad Harsh" is Jamie Lee Curtis' response to the unfavourable "Freakier Friday" review.
Jamie Lee Curtis is responding to a critical assessment of her most recent movie, Freakier Friday. Time magazine shared a portion of their review of the movie on Instagram on Friday, writing: "As far as we know, no one actually asked Disney for a sequel to 2003's buoyant … Horrible outfits, degrading situations, and no extra value—this is a sequel that exists only to capitalize on the popularity of the first film. The worst thing is that Freakier Friday came with a slew of other sequels that were actually novel interpretations of their original material.
In the follow-up to Freaky Friday (2003), mother Tess (played by Curtis) and daughter Anna (played by Lindsay Lohan) exchange bodies, ultimately strengthening their bond. Viewers witness another body swap in its sequel, but this time there is a multigenerational twist. Chad Michael Murray makes a comeback in the movie as well. Murray praised his collaboration with Curtis and Lohan at the July premiere. "Anytime, I'll ride those girls' coattails." "Oh God, let's not mess it up," Murray told The Hollywood Reporter, "because you never know what to expect when you walk in." "They delivered, and I hate to say it, but your sequel is just as good, if not better."
Freakier Friday has a 94 percent audience score and a 73 percent critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating that both fans and critics are enjoying the movie despite Time's assessment. Additionally, it brought in over $30 million at the box office. Nisha Ganatra is the director and Disney is the distributor of Freakier Friday. It is currently showing in theatres.
